Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus


The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, had a meeting, on Wednesday, 6th April 2022, with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Mr Zdravko Krivokapić, at the Prime Minister’s Office, in Podgorica, where President Anastasiades was paying a two-day visit – the first visit of a Cypriot President in Montenegro – which was completed that day.

Amongst other issues discussed during the meeting, were the developments in Ukraine, the current situation regarding the Cyprus problem and the ongoing Turkish provocations in land and in the EEZ of the Republic of Cyprus, the EU-Montenegro relations and the Cyprus – Montenegro bilateral relations, as well as ways to further strengthen them.

Present at meeting were the Government Spokesman, Mr Marios Pelekanos, the Deputy Minister to President, Mr Kyriacos Koushos, the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, Mr Vassilis Demetriades, the Ambassador of the Republic in Montenegro, Mr Demetrios Theofylactou, and the Acting Director of the President’s Diplomatic Office, Ms Koula Sofianou.

Afterwards, the President of the Republic and his wife, Ms Andri Anastadiades, accompanied by the President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, and his wife, visited the Old Town of Kotor, where he was welcomed by the Town’s Mayor, Mr Vladimir Jokić. A traditional dance event was held there, in honour of the President of the Republic.

Later on, President Anastasiades visited the Maritime Museum and then he traveled to the city of Tivat where he was toured at the marina.

The President of the Republic departed to Cyprus late in the afternoon.
