Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus

Mrs Anastasia Anthousi was born in Nicosia in 1977. She graduated from the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Athens and she also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Sector Management from the Cyprus International Institute of Management.

Since 2001, Mrs Anthousi served at the Public Service, Ministry of Health and, in 2019, was promoted to Senior Health Services Officer. She headed the Office of the Ministers of Health from 2015 to 2011 and served as a Deputy Director of the Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry of Health. She significantly contributed to the reform of the health sector, both for the design and implementation of the General Health System (GeSY) and the transformation/autonomation of public hospitals. She also held a key role in handling the coronavirus pandemic in Cyprus.

Mrs Anthousi was a member of the Executive Committee of PASYDY and President of the Board of PASYDY’s Professional Sector of Pharmacists for three terms.

Mrs Anthousi is actively engaged to voluntary and charitable activities. In April 2001, she was elected at the European Coordinating Committee for the promotion of the fundamental Principles of Red Cross. She served as a member of the Central Committee of the Youth Section of Cyprus Red Cross Society, and, from 2004 until 2008, she was the President of Kyrenia Branch of the Youth Section. Further, she was an active member of the non-profit Charity Association “Vagoni Agapis”. In her capacity as a pharmacist, she participated in missions in Tanzania and Uganda organized by the Cyprus Association for Famine Relief.
