1. Legal Status
The Unit has been established in accordance with the provisions of the Police Law, N.73(I) 2004
2. Command
(1) The Unit is commanded by a Senior Officer, who operationally comes under the Chief of Police and administratively under the Assistance Chief of Police (Support)
(2) The Commander is responsible for the following:
(a) Protecting the President of the Republic
(b) Organising the Presidential Guard in such a way as to carry out satisfactorily its mission
(c) Continuously training and retraining its members
(d) Supervising/checking the communication and transport means of the Unit.
3. Duties of the Members of the Presidential Guard
The Unit is responsible for:
(a) The security of the President of the Republic
(b) Guarding the Presidential house and the Presidential Palace
(c) Any other duties that may be assigned to it.
